Your Tax Day Cartoon! Not About Your 1040 Form!
Topic: Political Cartoons

As an entity who forgot about taxes until the day before they were due last year, we feel for many of you sorry creatures who are still crunching numbers in the hope that you can make it to the post office or file that extension online before the IRS rains hellfire and damnation on you.

So today we give you a tax cartoon from Larry Wright of Caglecartoons.com. It actually isn't about your complicated tax books and 1040 forms. It's about estate taxes, because we think that Larry finally hit the nail on the head and broke down what both political parties are getting greedy over. So enjoy, and good luck on your returns. We can't wait until the IRS deposits our paltry refund check into our bank account and then proceeds to audit the deposit as "extra earned income."

NCAA Tourney Action Returns
Topic: Political Cartoons

Sports, technically, but we'll be jaded by the end of it, so here's this from Walt Handelsman of NY Newsday.

Political Cartoon of the uh... um... Moment: The Enron Trial
Topic: Political Cartoons

Mostly because we believe that the story and anger of Enron should be seen in art, like the fantastic documentary Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, and the following cartoon, we're not going to write much about it. So we'll just post Scott Stantis's cartoon and let you fume about it in your own way. Screw the executives and take their gold-plated umbrella stands. They're going to prison. Good goddamn riddance. Thanks Scott.

Cartoon of the Day! The Birds 3; Influenza Over Pecking to Death
Topic: Political Cartoons

With the sudden hysteria over the avian flu (oh my god, it can kill anywhere from 5 people to 150 million! oh my god, what are the odds??? - ed.), we're going to give you a cartoon that should pretty much show you how we're feeling nowadays; pissed off at the President. We think this bird flu shit is a bunch of hysteria produced by Bush enemies, but we're going to listen to it, because the President has turned into a religious retard, not the straight up retard that America re-elected. So here's Robert Ariail's cartoon about the situation for your enjoyment.

Cartoon of the Day! Hammer Time!
Topic: Political Cartoons

In honor of former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's second indictment, we give you this cartoon from Nick Anderson of the Louisville Courier-Journal. Funny how everything sort of runs together... and we thought that everyone had forgotten Rostenkowski. Good memory Nick!

Cartoon of the Day! Milking it for Everything it's Worth
Topic: Political Cartoons

Now that even The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the refuge on Comedy Central that has turned into a massive liberabl bitchfest in which many of the show's anchors and producers use sometimes damn funny comedy to spill their own politics and ideologies into the mainstream while pretending they're being "groundbreaking," has begun to attack activist Cindy Sheehan as the idiot/oportunistic jerkoff that she is, it's only right that we post up this cartoon from Gary Varvel. Pretty much describes how we think everyone in America feels now. Thanks Gary!

Cartoon of the Day! Apparently Bush is God... Who Knew?
Topic: Political Cartoons

Now that we have talk of another hurricane striking the Gulf of Mexico, it's going to be interesting to see exactly where the MSM and Democrats will go with the blame of people not evacuating their homes (p.s., we've had many friends in Houston and Galveston refuse to leave their shit, so it ain't POTUS's fault - ed.). We're guessing they'll use the term "federal government," which of course, translates to "President Bush."

So why do this? Because they're trying to prove themselves right. John Kerry is still trying to mount an attack on the Pres, but no one gives two shits. Al Sharpton has finally shut up, and now even Michael Moore and lover Cindy Sheehan are gone too. So today we turn to newcomer (to here at least) Marie Woolf of Cagle Cartoons to shed some humor on the subject of hurricanes and playing God with the weather. Thanks Marie!

Cartoon of the Day! Not Exactly New, But Not Exactly Off-Topic
Topic: Political Cartoons

We know that this cartoon is a bit dated, but it was sent to us by a reader and it still has weight during this hurricane season. Plus, it's really damn funny. So we turn to Glenn McCoy to show some good political humor during the wake of another bad hurricane.

Cartoon of the Day! Where are the political deaf mutes? It would be so much better if they didn't talk.
Topic: Political Cartoons

We once again return to Mike Lester, who once again brings his voice to all of those jackasses, including Senator Chuck Hagel, who believe we should leave Iraq, job unfinished, and just let them destroy a vital region of the world. A.) Those people are dumb. B.)Screw oil. Do you think they'll stop attacking us after we leave? If you do, turn in your brain at the next stop, because you're out of the union, you retard. So thanks Mike! You've got us laughing like always.

Cartoon of the Day! Diamond in the Rough of Idiots
Topic: Political Cartoons

Most political cartoonists are fucking stupid. Granted, their intrinsic genius for subtlety and wit is very high, but when it comes to logic, they will always remain artists. Remember, Van Gogh cut off his ear for a woman and Manet married his sister, and they were great artists.

Over at cagle.com, you can see it in action if you click on the Cindy Sheehan cartoons. After six pages of searching, we finally found one that wasn't calling Bush a coward for not talking to the woman that, oh yes, he already talked to. This cartoon is by Mike Lester, who we have turned to before for a lesson of what people SHOULD be looking at. We hate to jump on the MSM bandwagon, but isn't all this hype over a grieving mother pretty much bullshit anyway? It sucks that her son is dead, but she's gone a little insane with mixing an agenda with grief. Calling the administration a bunch of "filthy liars" and calling for the removal of all troops in Iraq, which would cause the breakdown of that country, is a little, how do you say, Michael Moore. Speaking of which, Michael Moore is fucking stupid too. Enjoy the cartoon... we did!

Cartoon of the Day! Sneaky Petey and the U.N.
Topic: Political Cartoons

The biggest political story this week wasn't Rove or the new SCOTUS, but Bush giving the finger to the Democratic party and confirming John Bolton as the new U.N. Ambassador. People are up in arms because he's a tough guy who goes overboard every now and then. We fail to see why this is a problem. With the utter corruption and horrid state of the United Nations now (Oil for Food scandal, anyone?), we need a massive dick to help screw that place right. Michael Ramirez of the Los Angeles Times agrees, so we give you something that made us almost snort a gummy bear through our nose. Now if you'll excuse us, we have to find tweezers to get this goddamned bear out...

Cartoon of the Day! Blocking Roberts to Spite Bolton
Topic: Political Cartoons

We're pretty sure now that John G. Roberts is screwed and will never receive the confirmation to become SCOTUS. How do we know this? Because Bush pushed Bolton through during a Congressional recess. Now no one's going to allow him to appoint a dogcatcher in Crawford, much less a Supreme Court Justice. So we turn to Brian Fairrington to get his opinion, because... well, he makes us laugh and isn't moved by personal politics. Okay fine, he is, but not as much as everyone else.

Cartoon of the Day! AFL-CINo; We're so clever!!!
Topic: Political Cartoons

Perhaps because it has been overshadowed by the whole space shuttle/Bin Laden's dumbest idea ever thing today, the AFL's falling out with the CIO means that there might not be a true organized labor union and Jimmy Hoffa's son, James Hoffa, who just happens to be in charge of the AFL, will probably disappear too. But that's all well and good. Since we don't want to research links because it's been a long day, we're going to give you M.e. Cohen's cartoon regarding this exact issue. Because we can. And he's from Jersey and he told us to.

Cartoon of the Day! Something Eats Rove Instead of Rove Eating Babies
Topic: Political Cartoons

Has Karl Rove fallen victim to the political machine that he once had such great grasp over? Perhaps, and even though we believe that the whole truth isn't coming out of the White House, it never does, so there isn't much we can do about it. Of course, the machine is going insane over this; anyone who argues there isn't a leftist bias in the MSM nowadays merely needs to turn on the television and watch the Rover coverage. It's as if Dracula were in charge, and even though Bush sustains Rove with virgin blood, he doesn't suck it directly out of a young girl's veins. The demonization is getting out of hand, so we turned to Gary Varvel of The Indianapolis Star-News to give us a good dose of what's up. Thanks Gary!

Cartoon of the Day! We hate Robert Novak!
Topic: Political Cartoons

As Jon Stewart is fond of saying, Robert Novak truly is a douchebag of journalism. And now that Karl Rove is being hammered in the media and President Bush has stopped publicly saying he's supporting him and switched his position to "he's a friend," we're going to give you a nice cartoon from John Sherffius regarding our thoughts for Novak, the douchebag.

Cartoon of the Day! Cagle to the Rescue!
Topic: Political Cartoons

Surprise, surprise today when we checked our inbox we had a fresh cartoon sitting from Daryl Cagle over at Slate that didn't have something to do with Karl Rove's probable mention of a certain CIA operative's name that got her outed in Time magazine. So thank you to Daryl for stopping the deluge of Rove hatred. Two megabyte images of people calling him an American terrorist are getting really, really old.

Cartoon of the Day! Honoring London
Topic: Political Cartoons

This is the closest we could find that still makes fun of the British for being stodgy, outdated folk while still honoring the fact that they lost over 50 of their citizens in a terrorist attack. Because terrorism is bad... but English people are still stuck up. Thanks to Jeff Parker of Florida Today for this one.

Cartoon of the Day! G-8 and Out Comes the Hate!
Topic: Political Cartoons

With the beginning of the G-8 summit and all of the crazed hippies throughout the world calling for a complete pullout of Iraq (smart move, if you live on a remote island - ed.), we're going to Mike Lester to give us a little opinion of what will happen to the Middle East if America were to take all of our troops suddenly out of the region. Seriously, is there ANYONE out there who's goddamned retarded enough to think this is a good idea?

Cartoon of the Day! Don't Pet the Sharks!
Topic: Political Cartoons
The Discovery Channel will be thanking Florida when they air "Shark Week" and the ratings beat "Desperate Housewives." Thanks to two shark attacks and one death, the MSM and 24 hour news channels have gone off their rocker with all of the coverage regarding shark attacks. We shouldn't laugh at this, but we did. And if Jeff Parker of Florida Today can laugh at it, then dammit, we can too!

P.S. - This is our 1000th entry! Who would've ever thought that we would've made it a year (which we did on June 7th), much less 1000 posts? Not us! We thought we would've been in financial ruin right now, drinking cheap vodka mixed with canned chili to help remind us to eat and... oh wait. We do that now.

Cartoon of the Day! Good Thing We Don't Have a Home to Lose!
Topic: Political Cartoons

As you are well aware by now, the Supreme Court recently ruled that your local government could take your home in the "eminent domain" clause if it was needed, i.e. new shopping mall? Screw you homeowner, we'll give you base market value from your home and then rip it down to put in a parking lot and there's nothing you can do about it. To all of these people that are overly concerned with partisan politics (hypocrite warning! - ed.), this is something that has flown under the radar for too long. Remember, they can't bulldoze your house if you're in it with a shotgun! Thanks to Bob Gorrell for this one.
