Bowling resumed this past Wednesday night, in honor of Colleen Harwood, one of the last original Tripod veterans to leave us. Colleen showed up with her famous ball, "Jackie," a marbled amalgam of purple, white, and blue. Of course, everyone was jealous. Nearly 20 Tripodians, new and old, showed up to wreck some pins. Jenny Wienert, the Queen of Bowling, scored a high of 160. That put her past her brother, Adam, who scored a 146. Damn, Jenny knows how to throw that ball! Stay tuned for bowling updates. The ritual Wednesday-night contest should start up again soon.

Tripodians are gearing up for a busy weekend — there will be town-organized tag sales galore this Saturday, according to the Queen of Tag Sales, Gail Burns. (Yes, we have several queens in this hive!) Gail has been preparing for this secondhand-shopping feeding frenzy all summer — perfecting her grabbing motions, studying up on antiques so she can spot the treasures, and making room in the house for new additions! Good luck this weekend, Gail!

Now for the biggest news of the week: Dwayne set up two computers in the cafe running tons of video games. Since then, people have been requesting more and more games. Neil, the go-getter that he is, has suggested typing tutors and perhaps a geography game (Carmen Sandiego™, anyone?). Neil was chided for his suggestions, but I'd love to see the spelling in e-mails improve around here!
