Tripodians have been swinging their hips to some Big Band tunes once a week since January. We're getting pretty good at it, too! Marketing Associate, Jonathan Buoni, set up lessons at a local restaurant that has a ballroom, and things just rocked on from there. People were so jazzed about the first five lessons, Jonathan organized a second session that started this past Wednesday night. Jenny Wienert and John Melesky danced the night away with Rachel and Jason Macauley, Colleen Harwood, Julia Reidy, and Venkat Srinivasan. Tripodians really know how to get down!

This Thursday, we're also celebrating Earth Day '99. Taxonomy Editor Adam Wienert, Jenny's brother, encouraged us all to think about what this day means — what exactly are we doing here, and how can we help instead of harm the earth's environment? Adam suggested we all use ceramic coffee mugs instead of a Styrofoam ones this morning, turn off our computer speakers when we aren't using them, and take an extra second to put paper in the recycling bin. These are all simple things that we can do everyday that will ultimately make our impact on the planet a little less harmful.

Tripod has always been about "Doing It Yourself," and when it comes to helping save the planet, we can all start with ourselves. Once we get in the habit individually, we can come together on this, and really make some changes around here. Have a very happy Earth Day, from all of us at Tripod!
