The Stalker's Home Page will school you on the lack of privacy on the web. If you're trying to track down a long lost friend it might be great. Otherwise, you'll probably be scared -- and rightly so.

Retroactive is a nice little zine
which celebrates popular culture of the 20th century. Especially fun is Teletype, with news
items from retro fads and happenings around the world.

Most of my staff picks (not to mention my life picks) are
far too serious for their own good. Until now.
Try the
Astrological Services from Matrix Space. You can even get couples
analysis.
On Tripod, get answers to your health questions from
Ask The Doctor. Okay, but that one really is for your own good.

Okay, so the download is 6.7 MB and takes over an hour to squeeze through a
14.4 modem. But once it arrives, you'll be able to play Wall Pat In, one of
the funniest political cartoons in game form I've ever seen. You're Pat
Buchanan, frantically trying to build a wall around the United States, in
keeping with your campaign promises, to keep out invading japs, wetbacks,
krauts and canucks who want to overwhelm our welfare system and bring our
fair country to its knees. While you're laughing at this terrific game for
Windows or Mac, keep in mind that the xenophobic son of a bitch recently threw
his support behind Bob Dole.

A cool Web site, magazine, and company. Fast Company
calls itself the "Handbook of the Revolution" -- and as far as business
today, it is. They aren't just interested in documenting the revolutionary
changes in business today, however, but more specifically focused on
helping businesses get up to speed for today's world. Okay, so I make it
sound boring, but check it out -- it's edgy and cool.

Truck Driving Slang
as it is Slung will give you all the lingo you need to blend at a truck
stop or hang with the cool kids on CB. Because truck drivers flame too, if
you don't know what you're talking about. And when you hear "There's a
Kojak with a Kodak behind the overpass," you'll know to slow down.

As an aspiring writer and a lifelong film fanatic, I found much to love at the Web site of the Writer's Guild of America -- articles, online resources, great quotes from classic movie scripts, and extremely thorough help sections for would-be screenwriters. There is also an excellent site run by the Director's Guild which has insightful interviews with successful auteurs -- running the gamut from the sublime (Woody Allen) to the schlocky (John Carpenter).

Formerly the X Files Simulation Role-Playing Game,
Omega Bureau is the
next best thing to hanging out in the basement offices of the Hoover
Building. Based on the popular Fox series, recruits can develop characters
to help solve interactive real-time paranormal mysteries on the IRC, or
supplement their weekly X Files fix by sitting in and watching a game
session. Check out the current character profiles, read up on the "Sim
Fiction" penned by game hosts and current players, peruse the weekly
newsletter, cast your vote for the First Annual Omega Bureau Sim Awards,
and hit the links to the other three Omega pages.

Although I have never met Justin
Hall, I know more about him than I ever wanted to. What kind of person
puts their entire life on the Web, daily? See for yourself.
On Tripod, our reviews section,Tools for Thought is off to a
great start.
