Kari-Astrid Hauge's Recipe For Gluehwein


5 qt apple cider
2 sliced oranges
1 sliced lemon
6 cinnamon sticks
6 cloves
3 qt burgundy wine


Pour apple cider into a 10 qt pot under medium heat. Mix in lemon, orange, cinamon stick and cloves. Boil. Reduce boil to simmer and add burgundy. Cover with lid or aluminum foil (this helps maintain the alcohol content). Simmer 15 minutes. Serve warm in tall mug or wine glass. For individual servings use 4-5 oz cider to 2 oz wine.
